“A unique experience” by merging the ancient cry of Southern Africa with the hybrid art of Southern Spain, a new art is created...

...it is a new way of moving by bringing great traditions together to create FlamenKhoi. Tswana, Khoi San and Flamenco, as if from the same soul, share a means of expression that have an organic commonality that unifies them in a compelling performance.

Three professional artists have joined African and European traditions resulting in a dynamic performance that is both exciting and evolutionary. It is a new vocabulary which fuses our innate universal human elements throughout the world. Matched with the elements of life, Ramagole, Mashiane and Maile explore the similarities between people and cultures, fostering a greater understanding and awareness of the sameness of universal rhythm.

Audience Responses

want to give it four and a half stars (by the way, my work email did not want to open this, saying your site is not secure) I thought the performers were very accomplished and it was well directed as they were in total command and control of what they were doing. But the reason it was so fascinating and so memorable is that it took two art/dance forms of which I am fairly familiar and made one look at them afresh as it used the two fprms to create something new and to show the similarities and universality of both. Lovely show. Highly recommended.
